Shamelessly stealing from my friend Bad Catholic, I'm a United Methodist with a somewhat liberal theology. Specifically, I want my church to be more inclusive of people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered. Generally, I just want to help get God out of that Little Box some Christians want to shove him into.
More on Guantanamo Bay. I don't know that I have anything to add, other than to lament the dangerous path our country has been taking since 9/11. Yet another reason I can no longer fly the American flag in front of my home. Why aren't we doing something to stop these abuses immediately?

I became a Christian when I was 19. I started out pretty run-of-the-mill conservative, but my theology has grown progressively more liberal the more I study the Bible. Here I might seem like a raving liberal, but politically I'm actually a moderate conservative. Although I'm straight, the death of Matthew Shepard, the existence of Fred Phelps, and two sermons on the same day from different preachers on the subject of standing in the way of hate combined into the two-by-four God used to call me into fighting for gay rights. The United Methodist Church's official stance is that "homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching," so I guess that makes me a bad Methodist.

i'm a united methodist minister, living in Tucson.
agree with everything on your blog that you've written.
so that means if you are a "bad methodist" i'm a completely incorigable methodist minister--as progressive politically and liberal theologicaly as any methodist minister in the conference, including the wonderful and infamous folks at st. francis in the foothills.
